10 Instagrammable Spots in Dublin ☘️
One of my favourite things about traveling is taking out our camera and trying to get great shots of wherever we are visiting. Sometimes we stumble upon those perfect picture moments, but a lot of the time, I look to Instagram and follow city accounts to not only see what the local photographers are capturing, but to help us figure out what there is to do and see in that particular city.
Dublin is no different for me. Even though we call it home now, it hasn’t always been our home. I still find a lot of joy in exploring every nook and cranny of this city and trying to capture its grit and heart. Dublin is filled with all sorts of interesting and gorgeous places to get you those double taps on the ‘gram. Whether you’re visiting Dublin or live here yourself, here is a list of what I consider to be 10 Instagrammable Spots in Dublin. How many do you recognize?!
10. Poolbeg Lighthouse
The Great South Wall walk is a favourite amongst Dubliners and gives you great shots of the Poolbeg lighthouse, Dublin Bay, and the iconic Poolbeg stacks.
9. The Long Room of the Old Library at Trinity College
This shot comes at a price of €14 and a lot of patience waiting for people to move and put their phones away, but once you get it, it’s quite gratifying.
8. Street Art in Smithfield
Dublin’s street art scene has gotten a revival with the Grey Area Project. Follow @subset and @ maser on Instagram for some of the best work around town.
7. The Umbrellas of Anne’s Lane
Located down the alley from Kehoe’s is this beautiful installment. It’s an easy spot to visit and even better if there are puddles around to get a reflection shot.
6. St. Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre
Need to go to the loo? Pop into St. Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre and make your way to the top floor. Before you go, snag a shot of the iconic interior of this mall. It’s especially stunning at Christmas time.
5. Temple Bar
Filled with tourists, but undeniable charm. There are plenty of IG worthy shots in the culture hub of Dublin.
4. Samuel Beckett + Convention Centre
Located down in the Docks on the River Liffey is the bridge that looks like a harp and the wonderfully lit up Convention Centre. At night, you can get great shots all along the river with the buildings reflections in the water.
3. Pubs of Dublin
Ireland is known for its pub culture and it’s no wonder why. The pubs are old, filled with tradition and history, and are always great craic.
2. doors of dublin
Explore Merrion Square, Stephen’s Green, and Fitzwilliam’s Square for some of Dublin’s most beautiful Georgian architecture and colorful doors.
1. Dame Lane
One of the cutest streets around. I love all the colors, the lights, and flags. Plus, you can always hear some live music while stroling down this alleyway.
R.I.P. TO THE ANGEL WINGS MURAL
The elusive wings mural was hard to find, is now forever gone, and is sorely missed!
